We normally like to have a little more information before posting news on TheDetroitBureau.com, but occasionally, we get just enough of a peek at something to encourage us to bend the rules…
…like the picture, you see here of a new small MPV concept vehicle Kia intends to reveal at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, on March 3rd. The folks at the Korean carmaker will only say that they’re pulling the tarp off “‘a great looking MPV’ with a unique glass roof treatment to create a cool and spacious automotive powerhouse.”
Automotive aficionados know that Kia — like it’s partner, Hyundai — has frequently used its concept cars as a way to gauge public reaction to production vehicles moving through the vehicle pipeline. So, while the real world version would likely be a little less extreme, we’ll send our wagers to Vegas betting on the likelihood that this show car will evolve from concept to customer in reasonably short order, much like the onetime Soul show car did.
TheDetroitBureau.com will be there, at Geneva’s PALExpo Center, for the 2009 auto show, next month.
That is a tantalizing peek! The Korean makers have been building a loyal base on affordability and reliability, and are looking to be on the way to standing out on style. Can’t wait for the full pix!
