Memories have a way of making things seem a little more rosy than they were. That’s especially true when it comes to the cars we used to drive. We often forget all the times we were stuck by the side of the road waiting for a tow truck for our old Volkswagen Beetle.
And since we never had a chance to live with one on a regular basis, we can look back fondly on the old Citroen 2CV. In reality, the deux Chevaux, or “2 horses,” was a pretty miserable machine, underpowered, unsafe and unsightly, a cross between a sardine can and a lawnmower. But there’s something about it that still brings a smile to faces when one drives by on the streets of Paris.
Could an entirely new-generation 2CV be in the works? That’s what immediately comes to mind when we saw this pic on AutoBlog.com, a few minutes ago. As our colleagues noted, Citroen isn’t saying much. Actually, they’re saying nothing at all, other than letting us know that the concept vehicle in this filmy teaser will make its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, next week.
What little we are picking up suggests this could be a new look for two of the French makers smaller model lines, the C1 or C2.
Beyond that, we’ll have to use a little bit of memory mixed with our imagination.
