Yes, my friends, after decades of hype and now demonstrably false propositions about the business revealed by the financial meltdown and the ongoing Great Recession, the automotive establishment is shaken to its roots. And no one knows what will emerge in 2010 and beyond. The Detroit show is the industry’s first chance to redefine itself, its image and its products in the second decade of the 21st century. One thing is clear, the global industry is no longer centered in Michigan.
Nonetheless, this year’s Detroit Auto Show will be the biggest in North America and a rival to the best worldwide, with as many as 50 products set to make a global or North American debuts.
TheDetroitBureau.com’s team will be on hand during the press previews, and have already outlined the inside story on many of the key products. Keep coming back as TheDetroitBureau.com adds more as the cars, stars and politicians keep appearing.
