All prices include destination and delivery charges. The all-wheel-drive system, available on SEL, Limited and Sport models, adds $1850 to the base price.
The Edge has consistently been the market’s best-selling crossover-utility vehicle, though it has been getting edged out by the new Chevrolet Equinox, in recent months, and the segment only promises to get more competitive going forward.
One of the big questions for the coming model-year is how Edge will be impacted by Ford’s decision to migrate the classic SUV, the Ford Explorer, from a truck-like body-on-frame to a car-based crossover platform. Some analysts warn that the move could leave the two Ford models competing for much the same buyers, even though the automaker is still expected to market Explorer as a more rugged model for those who still like true off-road capabilities..
