Chrysler has already indicated that it was working on a Durango replacement, but offered no new details other than the images of the new vehicle.

Dodge has posted some teaser images of the new Dodge Durango, which it plans to launch this fall.

The images show a stylish grille, sophisticated interior details and a sculpted rear end.

Dodge is expected to launch the new Durango, which will be based on the same platform as the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, this fall. It will have a third row of seats, where the Jeep is offered with two rows only.

It will likely offer the same engine choices as the Grand Cherokee: the company’s new 3.6-liter V-6 and 5.7-liter V-8.

Dodge discontinued the Durango, a full-size body-on-frame SUV in 2009 as part of its restructuring plan. The Durango’s twin, the Chrysler Aspen, was also discontinued at the same time as the Durango. There have been no details offered about a possible Chrysler version of the SUV.
