The Chevrolet Camaro Red Flash is one of four Chevy pony car concepts at the 2010 SEMA show.
Trick-or-treat comes a few days late to Las Vegas, with the annual SEMA show opening its doors at the Las Vegas Convention Center today. The annual event is a clear treat for those who wander the vast floor space where manufacturers are tricking out some of their hottest products.
That includes Chevrolet, which has all manner of models on display, along with the usual assortment of crate engines and performance and appearance accessories.
But the star of the General Motors division’s display is the Chevy Camaro, for which showgoers will find four distinctly enticing alternatives that just might wind up in production – or at least many folks are hoping.
At the high end of the list is the Chevrolet Camaro SS Track Car Concept. For anyone who has dreamed of taking the Chevy pony car on putting it through its paces without worrying about Officer Friendly, here’s the answer.
Among the features on this Icy White Camaro is a full, track-ready roll cage, a fuel cell, 5-point racing harness and lightened carbon fiber panels. To further reduce weight, the SS Track Car Concept does away with the Camaro’s radio and even the carpeting and sound deadening insulation.

“The car expresses Camaro performance while also signaling Chevrolet’s new commitment to developing and offering a portfolio of performance parts for racing enthusiasts,” explains Chevy’s new general manager, Chris Perry.
Despite the Track Car’s big spoiler, the first concept you’ll likely notice, if you’re able to make it to SEMA, is the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Red Flash Show Car.
The Camaro XM Appearance Package shows the range of new options for the pony car.
With its audacious Red Jewel paint, grey heritage stripes, and 21-inch wheels, this concept would be decidedly difficult to miss. But if they fire the engine up, you’ll probably know all the way from the other side of the convention center, thanks to a performance air intake and accessory exhaust kits.
Inside, the Red Jewel boasts an Ebony leather-trimmed cabin with titanium stitching and red accents on the seats. There’s also a custom steering wheel, racing-style pedals and red LED interior accent lighting.
The Camaro Synergy Series goes into production early in 2011.
Even if you’re satisfied with your fuel-efficient LT1 engine, it doesn’t mean your Camaro can’t make a bold statement. That’s the idea behind the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro XM/Accessory Appearance Package. This concept settles for the 312-horsepower six-banger and, as you might guess, a year-long XM Satellite Radio subscription – as well as a rear spoiler, unique grille and 21-inch wheels and tires.
“The XM Accessory Appearance Package is all about affordable style,” said Russ Clark, director of Chevrolet product marketing. “Our intent was to create a special, customized model – including 21-inch wheels – that could be had for around $30,000, a popular price point for today’s Camaro buyer before they add accessories.”
The final concept is actually going to make it into production by next spring. The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Synergy Series follows in the tire prints of the ’10 Synergy Green Camaro, and features an array of interior and exterior colors – as well as a trick red stripe around the wheel rims – not currently available on the Camaro.
