Dodge is auctioning a one-of-one 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001, the most powerful and fastest muscle car ever built, at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2014.

In what has become a growing trend among muscle, performance and sports car manufacturers, Fiat Chrysler plans to auction off for charity the first 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

The very first 707-horsepower coupe, vehicle identification number 0001, will roll across the block at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction to be held in Sin City between the 25th and 27th of September. Proceeds will be donated to Opportunity Village, a service that provides a variety of programs for men and women with various disabilities.

“The 2015 Challenger Hellcat is already guaranteed to be one of the hottest cars that will roll through the Barrett-Jackson auction lanes in decades to come,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of the Dodge and SRT Brands. “The VIN 0001 being auctioned this year is the ultimate one-of-one collectible 2015 Dodge Challenger, as Dodge is ensuring there will never be another one like it.”

A variety of high-testosterone products have gone to auction in recent years, including both the first Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible models. Some have generated winning bids approaching, even topping the $1 million mark.

The new Challenger Hellcat has certainly generated plenty of interest since Fiat Chrysler’s Dodge brand announced it earlier this year. It initially suggested the top-line model would produce “600-plus” horsepower, later revealing the actual number to be a whopping 707 horsepower. That is the highest figure ever for a factory model, though tuners like Las Vegas-based Shelby American have boosted Detroit iron up and above the 1,000-hp mark.

To get there, the Hellcat uses the first-ever supercharged Hemi, a modified version of the 6.2-liter V-8 found in other Fiat Chrysler products, such as the 2015 Challenger 392. It has topped 200 mph in testing, and initial testing suggests it is launching from 0 to 60 in just over 3.5 seconds. Dodge claims a standing quarter mile time of 10.8 seconds at a speed of 126 mph.

The Hellcat VIN 0001 will be auctioned off with a few accessories designed to make it unique, including a “Hemi painted presentation” kit including a “build book,” a video, an SRT Hellcat lithograph, and a “birth certificate.” It will be delivered with a Stryker Red paint job normally limited to the Viper sports car.

“With 707 horsepower, the 2015 Dodge Hellcat is more than just the most powerful muscle car built by an American manufacturer,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. “It’s also going to be the means to help countless people with severe intellectual and related disabilities reach their potential.”
