GMC is looking to set a new sales record for its Terrain SUV in 2016 with the new Nightfall edition.
After a record sales year in 2015, GMC is giving fans of its Terrain SUV another reason to run out and buy a new one: the 2017 Terrain Nightfall edition. The new model will make its debut at the New York Auto Show later this week.
The Nightfall is a stylized special edition of the SUV combining blacked-out exterior details and wheels, with popular technologies, such as IntelliLink with available 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot, according to the brand.
Due to arrive in dealerships this fall, it joins is truck cousins, the Canyon Nightfall and Sierra All Terrain X boasting these customized packages.
“Building on its best year ever, Terrain continues to attract new and style-conscious customers to GMC,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing.

With blacked out wheels and exterior details, it’s clear that GMC is looking to cater to an “edgier” buyer with the Terrain Nightfall. Feeding into that effort are 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels and gloss black spokes, a charcoal grill with a gloss black surround and accents, gloss black front and rear fascia accents, gloss black rear license plate surround trim, gloss black outside mirrors and black luggage rails.
The special packaged will be offered on SLE-2 and SLT models with four exterior color options: Summit White, Onyx Black, Graphite Gray Metallic and Crimson Red Metallic.

While sporty and aggressive are the siren’s song for this model, nothing on four wheels gets to be aggressive looking without also be aggressive at the gas pump. The new Nightfall gets an EPA-estimated 32 mpg highway (FWD models) with the standard 2.4-liter engine.
The SUV offers plenty of interior room and flexibility. The standard, GM MultiFlex rear seat can be moved fore or aft nearly eight inches for increased passenger comfort or more cargo room, including a maximum 63.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded, the company notes. A programmable power liftgate with a memory-stop function is available.

Safety features include six standard air bags and a standard rear-vision camera. Available active safety features include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Rear Park Assist.
