Mopar got its hands on the this Ram Rebel and upped the performance and the toughness.
Fiat Chrysler’s in-house performance and parts shop is back with another in a string of amped-up models – but for the first time it is turning to the truck side of the FCA product line-up.
The plan is to offer just 500 of the Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel trucks, the latest in a portfolio of specially modified vehicles that have, in the past, included the Challenger, Charger, Chrysler 300 and Dart. The decision to go with the Ram pickup is a no-brainer considering the surge in demand for light trucks, and pickups, in particular.
The Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel will feature a unique look, and plenty of performance accessories from the service and parts division’s extensive catalogue. Those include new intake and exhaust components, unique wheels and plenty of loud graphics.
“We are excited to team up with our friends at the Ram Truck brand to offer the first limited-edition Mopar vehicle for full-size truck enthusiasts,” said Pietro Gorlier, the director of FCA’s global parts and service operations.
“The already formidable Ram 1500 Rebel is a perfect canvas for unique Mopar accessories and performance parts developed to reinforce the rugged personality of the Rebel.”

The canvas Mopar starts out with is the Ram 1500 4×4 Rebel Crew Cab, which is assembled at the FCA plant in Warren, Michigan.
The exterior of the Mopar ’16 will be difficult to miss. It will be offered in two distinct paints, Flame Red and Brilliant Black two-tone, or Brilliant Black monochrome. The pickup will get 17-inch satin black wheels, a black front bumper skid plate, off-road wheel flares, Mopar graphics and more.
For off-roading, there also will be a special skid plate to protect the power steering box.

Inside, there will be a unique, numbered glovebox plate, part of a customized owner’s kit. Stainless steel sill guards will be embossed with the Ram logo.
Under the dual bezel sport performance hood, buyers will get a number of upgrades and even more performance options, such as a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust. The stock engine will remain the Ram Rebel’s 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel will reach showrooms this summer and carry a base price of $52,460 plus delivery charges.
