The new Bentley Continental Supersports is now the fastest Bentley ever, topping out at 209 mph.
Bentley’s Continental is nearing the end of its current production run so apparently the folks over in Crewe, England, decided to send it out with a bang: the new Continental Supersports is the fastest Bentley ever.
Powered by a 6.0-liter 12-cylinder with twin turbochargers putting out 700 horsepower, the four seater hits a top speed of 209 mph, according to the maker. It handles the sprint from 0-to-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
“Only Bentley could create a car which blends immense performance and unrivaled luxury in this way,” Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said in a statement.
The newly minted 700 hp beast also puts out 750 lb-ft of torque while sitting on 21-inch forged allow wheels. And if you like to feel the wind in your hair, Bentley has you covered with the convertible version that tops out at 205 hp while doing 0-to-60 in just 3.7 seconds.

For the Bentley history buffs, the new model produces 79 more horses and 160 lb-ft of torque more than its predecessor from 2009. The improvements didn’t just come from more horsepower. The engineers were busy fine-tuning other parts of the ultra-luxury sports car.
Bentley uses a new ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox that more efficiently moves power from engine to the wheels and to the ground than other models. Going faster is fantastic, but it also means that drivers need to stop faster and they sorted that out by outfitting the new Continental with new carbon-ceramic brakes bearing 16-inch rotors in the front and 14-inch ones on the back.

The maker also found ways to cut an additional 44 pounds off the car and buyers can skinny it down further by ordering the titanium exhaust system. Aiding the car’s performance is the GT3-R-inspired torque-vectoring system that mimic’s its on-tract performance characteristics.
“This dynamic system brakes individual front and rear wheels during acceleration out of corners to increase performance, whilst maintaining full power to unbraked wheels, and brakes the inside rear wheel on turn-in to improve agility,” officials noted.

The new Continental Supersports will be available to order this month with the Continental Supersports Coupe starting at $293,300 and the Continental Supersports Convertible at $322,600.
