Chevy is bringing the beach to SEMA this year with its Traverse SUP concept.

Chevrolet is excited about the new additions to its sport utility vehicle line-up, such as the Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Equinox.

In an era where the self-driving cars are the hot topic in the auto industry, Chevy is also eager to show off the versatility of those utes by highlighting how they can be accessorized to fit into active, outdoor-oriented lifestyles that are popular with the younger buyers coveted by car makers.

One of the vehicles that Chevrolet plans to show at SEMA, along with roughly 20 other vehicles, is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse SUP concept vehicle.

In keeping with automakers’ efforts to use accessories to target select groups of consumers, the Traverse SUP, zeroes in on one of the fastest-growing water sports — stand up paddle boarding. The redesigned three-row Traverse is used as the basis for the SUP, which features unique graphics as well as other accessories.

It also comes with Dark Gray fascias, rockers and wheel opening trim, Gloss Black bodyside molding, Glass black fog lamp bezels and tinted windows.

The list of accessories used to create the SUP also includes 20-inch aluminum wheels in black with black lug nuts, black grille insert, black Chevrolet bow tie emblems, assist steps, trailer hitch kit, all-weather floor liners in black, Illuminated front door sill plates, integrated cargo liner in black and Traverse-embroidered headrests.

The all all-new 2018 Traverse has a new look, with distinctive proportions, which are complemented by premium cues such as chrome accents, LED signature lighting and available LED D-Optic headlamps.
