The 2019 BMW X4 M40i M Performance makes its North American debut in New York.
With the threat of a tariff in the air, BMW will introduce the 2019 BMW X4 M40i M Performance to North America at the New York International Auto Show later this month.
The second-gen BMW X4 M40i M Performance brings sportier proportions, wider tracks, and the latest generation suspension settings than its predecessor. It also boasts a lower center of gravity and better aerodynamics.
The new X4 M40i is outfitted with an inline six-cylinder engine that produces 355 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. It springs from 0-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. In the U.S., it comes standard with M Sport brakes, allowing drivers to enjoy exceptionally dynamic handling with phenomenal stopping power.
All this performance is supplemented with a compelling interior. Passengers can enjoy a larger panoramic moonroof and a three-zone climate control system, unavailable in the previous generation, for improved ride comfort and experience.

The BMW X4 M40i M Performance hits U.S. dealers this summer with a MSRP of $60,450 plus $995 Destination and Handling. In addition to the new M40i, BMW’s bringing a host of other newbies to NYIAS too, including the first-ever BMW X2 and all-new BMW i8 Coupe, both of which made their world debuts in Detroit earlier this year, as well as the M5, i8 Roadster, i3s and X3.
The X2 debuted in January in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.
“The BMW X2 represents an expression of modern and extrovert vehicle dynamics,” Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice president, BMW Group Design, said in a statement, adding that the “standalone vehicle concept brings a new, fresh and exciting facet of the BMW to the compact segment.”

Picking up on the theme first seen with the BMW X6, the new 2019 X2 adopts more low-slung, coupe-like proportions than a typical sport- or crossover-utility vehicle. But the roofline is less awkward than the X4 or X6, something that should mean improved headroom in an otherwise subcompact package.
