Chevrolet introduces the 2019 Blazer Thursday, June 21, 2018 during a special event in Atlanta, Georgia.

General Motors offered a look at its 2019 Chevrolet Blazer, which it hopes will fortify its line-up of crossover vehicles.

The new 2019 Blazer offers a more expressive design, more functionality and more of the latest technology for to help protect the driver and bolster connectivity in an effort to compete in the increasingly crowded crossover segment.

“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado and Trax,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet.

“The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today,” he said.

The new Chevy Blazer gets a major upgrade to its exterior design, starting with the slotted grille.

Slotting between the Equinox and Traverse, the 2019 Blazer will offer unique design elements on each model, appealing to customers seeking distinctive styling and outstanding utility.

The exterior styling that features a strong grille and muscular proportions as well as distinctive appearance package on all modes and a driver-oriented interior with five-passenger seating and cargo-management system as well as distinctive appearance on all models. A 2.5-liter I-4 engine is standard, though a 3.6-liter V-6 engine is an option.

The also features a nine-speed automatic transmission and advanced twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system will also be available on the Blazer, which will be capable of towing 4,500 pounds when equipped with the optional V6.

The new Blazer will arrive in dealer showrooms in the first part of next year.

“The Blazer has attitude,” said John Cafaro, executive director, Global Chevrolet Design. “It looks commanding on the road, while fulfilling the promise of versatility at the heart of every Chevy crossover and SUV.”

The strong grille, hood lines and low-placed HID headlamps distinguishes all models. The design also features a distinctive lighting execution that separates the headlamps and LED daytime running lamps.

The 2019 Blazer is designed with technology that makes connectivity seamless and includes, intuitive controls and convenience features that help make the drive more comfortable, including Chevy’s first electronically-locking gloves, which offers added storage security. An automatically heated steering wheel and heated front seats are also available on the Blazer.

The Chevrolet Blazer will arrive at U.S. dealerships in early 2019. Additional details and pricing will be announced closer to the start of production.
