For as little as $269, Porsche offers four hours in a select vehicles as part of its new Porsche Drive program.
Porsche, one of the early innovators of the vehicle subscription program, is taking the concept to another level — actually two levels.
The German automaker’s North American operation is offering two new ways for drivers to get behind the wheel of a Porsche whether for a few hours or for weeks with its Porsche Drive and Porsche Host programs.
“We want to offer a choice in how people experience the thrill of driving a Porsche,” said Klaus Zellmer, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America Inc.
“Our market research shows that consumers want options across a spectrum from access to ownership. The Porsche Drive and Porsche Host pilots are exciting, non-traditional ways to let customers choose how they get behind the wheel of a Porsche.”

Porsche's new Host program permits drives to rent selected models for up to three weeks.
They are both building off the Porsche Passport subscription service, which is the company’s monthly service which allows the user to drive a variety of vehicles. The new version, Porsche Drive, kicked off in Atlanta this week.
Offered in concert with Clutch Technologies LLC, the Drive allows users to get behind the wheel of a wide range of Porsche vehicles for a period of a few hours, daily or even weekly rates. Users must rent a vehicle for a minimum of four hours.
After confirming a reservation, Porsche – in this case in Atlanta where the program is being piloted – will deliver the vehicle you selected. The type of vehicle one can access depends upon availability. The prices run from $269 for the four-hour bloc in a Macan, 718 Cayman or Boxster. That jumps to just under $3k for a 911 for a week.

Porsche is building off its Passport subscription plan to expand the options for drivers interested in Porsches.
For those needing or wanting a longer experience Porsche is partnering with Turo for Porsche Host. All of the vehicles in that program are owned and cared for by Turo owners. The peer-to-peer program kicks off Oct. 8 in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The program includes a group of outstanding Turo hosts who have been trained to offer a five-star Porsche experience, the automaker said. Guests can book a Porsche from a Porsche Host via the Turo app or website, for periods ranging from one day to a month or longer.
The offerings are based off the Passport program Porsche rolled out last fall, which offered two subscription levels and, for a price tag of up to $3,000 a month, you can get behind the wheel of as many as 22 different Porsche models pretty much whenever you want.

The $2,000 monthly “base” tier, dubbed “Launch,” will give customers access to four different Porsche models: the 718 Boxster, Macan S, Cayman S or Cayenne. There’s an additional $500 activation fee, but registration, insurance and maintenance costs are included in the package. The “Accelerate” tier, for $3,000 a month, gives customers access to 22 different Porsche models, including the 911 Carrera S, Panamera 4S sports sedan, Macan GTS and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
