The 2019 Lexus RC 300 couple ensure the brand has at least one compelling offering from a design perspective.
Lexus designers have been charged with the task of creating more emotion-evoking vehicles in recent years. However, the RC has always been that buzz-generating offering from Toyota’s luxury brand and the 2019 model shown in Paris continues that trend.
The exterior of the coupe gets an evolutionary upgrade rather than wholesale redesign with tweaks to the sporty look that also give it an elegant feel. However, those changes include updates to the aerodynamics to give it a“sharper and more refined” drive philosophy that was introduced by the LC, officials note.
The changes include a new front bumper corner that flows down from the headlamps and a grille mesh pattern comprising shapes which gradually transform from top to bottom, creating an intriguing visual tension, Lexus says. The vertical arrangement of the extra-small triple LED headlamps and new L-shaped LED clearance lamps add to the car’s elegance.
Additionally air ducts have been added to the corner of the rear bumper, resulting in better handling stability and enhanced overall driving response. A wider stance and lower center of gravity reflect the car’s high ability to maintain grip in different road conditions. The rear combination lamps now house more pronounced L-shaped lenses that are a new signature design feature for Lexus coupes.

The result is a vehicle that is more stable than ever under a wide variety of driving conditions, enhancing the idea that this is more than a sporty car, but instead a touring model that performs on twisting mountain roads or simply your daily highway commute.
The new Lexus RC continues to offers an exciting blend of sport and elegance.
On the inside, the RC gets a new look and feel with abrushed treatment applied to the heater control and audio panels. Additionally, the knee pads either side of the center console have been made larger and raised higher to create a more spacious feeling in the front of the cabin.
The driver’s palm rest has been reshaped and a stitching pattern has been added to the surface, adding a nice detailed touch one would expect in a premium vehicle.

New ornamentation options, including real aluminum Naguri and Brushed Metal will be available for the RC F Sport. In all, RC customers will have five options to choose from. Those can be paired with 11 exterior colors.
The designers and engineers were seeking to create “flatter and more stable ride quality and sharper handling characteristics” similar to those on the LC. All of the changes on the exterior and suspension and tires have resulted in a new RC that is “more athletic and responsive than ever.”

Enhanced aerodynamics, achieved with details such as a new fin shape in the side window moldings and a duct in the rear bumper, give the car better handling stability.
New 19-inch wheels higher-grip tires support excellent steering response. New shock absorbers, which provide significant damping force from low suspension stroke speeds, and stiffer suspension bushings have also been introduced.

The RC coupe offers a few options for power depending upon trim level: a 241-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged I4 engine or an all-wheel drive, and you get a 3.5-liter V6, with 260 horsepower. The inline four gets an updated ECU for 2019 to “optimize shift schedule, throttle and turbocharger response,” according to Lexus. That V6 jumps to 311 hp in the RC 350.
