The Ford Bronco may hold the record for the vehicle with the longest lead-in time in the history of the auto industry. Ford’s been teasing this ute for years, and demand is being whipped up by the latest round of leaked photos.

Pics of both the full-size Bronco in the two-door and four-door versions as well as the new “baby” Bronco all found their way on to the internet in the last 24 hours.

The new photos offer the most comprehensive look yet at the new models, building on what has been culled from previous images and what’s been offered by the automaker.

The photo of the Baby Bronco from BroncoSportForum.com shows that Ford is ready to compete with the Jeep Renegade. The lighter blue exterior color features plenty of black exterior molding and accents that show it to be a clear rival for Jeep’s smallest model.

Ford’s new small ute, which will be shown to the media next week, draws favorable exterior design comparisons to luxury SUVs, like Land Rover specifically. The automaker had planned to unveil the new model to the public at the New York International Auto Show. The show’s postponement to August will force the automaker to revise that timetable.

Meanwhile, the full-size Bronco also got outed appropriately enough on FullSizeBronco.com. The boxy beast certainly looks like it fits the bill for a go-anywhere rugged sport-utility vehicle. The four-door ute clad in wide knobby tires accented by aggressive fender flares, the silver Bronco in the photos also appears to offer a removable top.

The site also revealed pics of a grey two-door version with a hard top that color matches the body, sitting on similar tires and wheels, although the windows are heavily tinted. The questions now center on what will power full-size and Baby Bronco.

Perhaps just as importantly, will an electrified model be offered right away or will it come down the road after Ford rolls out its full-size battery-electric F-150.

The Bronco’s been discussed since a shiny silver model was teased during the Detroit Auto Show by Chairman Bill Ford in 2015. Since then, it’s taken a while, but details about it have been slow to come until the company showed pictures of the Baby Bronco during the 2018 Ford dealer annual meeting in Las Vegas.

That was followed by the automaker posted several photos of the Bronco R going through testing in Nevada, reading the beast for the SCORE Baja 1000 as Ford has been named Official Truck and SUV of SCORE-International Off-Road Racing in early November 2019. Two more sets of photos were leaked at the end of December 2019.
