Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled a special edition of its pure-electric hyper GT, the Battista Anniversario. It celebrates the 90th anniversary of Battista “Pinin” Farina’s launch of the coachbuilding business and design house.

“For 90 years, the Pininfarina name has been at the forefront of automotive design and performance, and the Battista perfectly encapsulates these values,” said Michael Perschke, CEO, Automobili Pininfarina.

“This ultimate expression of Battista, the Anniversario, is the distillation of everything that the brand has stood for in the past and which we now strive for in the future, creating a new pinnacle of desirability for sustainable and luxurious electric cars,” he added.

Battista Anniversario is equipped with the Furiosa package comprising a revised carbon fiber front splitter, side blades and rear diffuser.

The Anniversario races from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.8 seconds and hits 186 mph in 12 seconds.

The Furiosa package is available on all Battistas, however, on the Anniversario, these parts get a special treatment. They are finished in a two-tone combination of exposed signature carbon and carbon tinted in Iconica Blu with pin stripes in Bianco Sestriere.

Besides the exclusive livery, a bespoke rear wing, rear aero fins and other details are unique to the Battista Anniversario. The aerodynamic enhancements enabled by the Furiosa exterior changes deliver increased downforce and greater stability at higher cornering speeds and a more dynamic balance to the car.

The Anniversario’s handling dynamics are further sharpened by a reduction in unsprung weight of almost 10 kilograms, thanks to a new wheel design featuring center-lock forged aluminum wheels.

The rear wheels grow from 20 inches to 21 inches on performance-oriented tires. The combination allows the car to achieve its top speed of 217 mph. Of course, the car’s four electric motors put out 1,900 horsepower and 1,696 pound-feet of torque, which equates to a 0-to-60 time of just 1.8 seconds and and a speed of 186 mph in 12 seconds.

The Anniversario puts out a 1,900 horsepower and achieves a top speed of 217 mph.

The electric hypercar features a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and claimed range of 280 miles — when driven serenely. The interior includes specially finished seats, done in sustainably crafted black leather and black Alcantara.

In addition, the limited-edition hypercar features an engraved chassis plate, headlight engraving, “Anniversario” script on the side wings, black anodized dedication door plaques with a homage to the founding of Carrozzeria Pinin Farina in 1930, signature Pininfarina 90 logos, and a specially engraved chassis plate between the seats.

The handcrafted cars will be in Cambiano, Turin, where Pininfarina also has its design center and headquarters. Just five will be created, each priced from €2.6 million, making the Battista Anniversario one of the world’s most exclusive automobiles.

“My grandfather always had the vision that one day, there would be a stand-alone range of Pininfarina-branded cars,” said Paolo Pininfarina, chairman, Pininfarina SpA. “The Battista Anniversario, named in his honour to mark 90 years of the carrozzeria that he started, is a glorious way to link our past with the future of motoring.”
