One of the most alluring sports cars?
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG that will be revealed in Frankfurt now has official photos.
The car has an aluminum space frame with gullwing doors, an AMG 6.3-liter V-8 front-mid engine developing 571 horsepower and 650 Nm (470 lb. ft.) of torque and dry sump lubrication. The motor works with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in a transaxle configuration.
Handling of the 1620 kg (3,571 lb) car should be of the highest level with sports suspension with aluminum double wishbones.

Mercedes provided only estimated figures about acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds; top speed of the “Gullwing” should reach an electronically limited 197 mph.
According to Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mercedes and AMG have joined forced to create the new car, “That is set to become one of the most alluring sports cars of the 21st century.”
The ‘gullwing’ doors evokes memories of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, as do the wide radiator grille with the large Mercedes star, while the wing-shaped cross fins are a throw back to the front end of the sports car legend.
