Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to recruit new hires to the company: video game designers.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is certainly known for his unconventional approach to his businesses, as well as his proclivity for espousing his ideas about them on Twitter.

Those two things met again recently when Musk put out a call to video game designers.

“If you’re into video game development, consider applying to Tesla,” Musk tweeted Wednesday. “We want to make super fun games that integrate the center touchscreen, phone & car [in real life].”

Musk is known for having designers put “Easter Eggs” in its infotainment systems, such as the Mario Kart Rainbow Road or Santa Mode. Now he’s looking to broaden the offerings in the system and needs some help.

Elon Musk is recruiting video game designers.

Part of the deal is to add fully functioning Atari games to the company’s vehicles as part of next software update, Version 9.0. Nothing formal has been announced, but in chats with his followers it sure sounds like Pole Position, Missile Command and Tempest are on the table.

In fact, Pole Position will allow you to use the vehicle’s steering wheel for the game.

In addition to the video games, it looks like a few more features will find their way into the vehicles, such as “party and camper mode.” Rather than focusing on entertainment, this one actually offers real functionality keeping certain features powered for 48 hours while the car is parked.

If you do plan to send in a resume for one of these openings – Musk didn’t say how many designers were needed or for how long – you’d better be pretty good.

“Please send examples of prior work when applying,” he tweeted. “Looking for max playability & creativity.”
