GM is recalling 2015 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks for a problem with the truck's power steering..
General Motors is recalling more than 1.2 million full-size trucks and sport-utility vehicles to correct a steering problem causing crashes.
The company reveals that the power steering may fail and then recover due to a voltage drop in the vehicle’s electrical system. The dip makes the vehicles more susceptible to a loss of control and a crash.
GM says it has reports of 30 incidents related to the problem, including two injuries. No deaths have been reported.
The recall covers certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups as well as Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. Also affected are 2015 Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon SUVs.

The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is being recalled for a steering problem.

- Chevrolet Silverado (450,711)
- GMC Sierra 1500 (186,083)
- Chevrolet Tahoe (145,198)
- Chevrolet Suburban (79,505)
- Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV (45,270)
- GMC Yukon/Yukon XL (109,151)

Dealers will update the power steering software at no cost to owners. No date has been set to notify customers, but GM says the software is available now, so owners can contact dealers to schedule repairs.
The problem isn’t exactly new as GM recalled 2014 model year trucks last year for the same problem. GM’s not alone in having problems with its full-size trucks.

Ford recalled 2 million F-Series trucks last month due to a faulty seat belt pretensioner that could cause a vehicle fire. Ram had to recall 1.4 million trucks in August due to a problem with the locking mechanism on the truck’s tailgate.
