Mopar's Low Down Ram gets lower and meaner for SEMA. It's one of two Rams heading to the show in Las Vegas.

With SEMA right around the corner, Fiat Chrysler officials are providing an early look at two entries it’s bringing to the Las Vegas show: The Low Down Ram and Ram Rebel.

The pickup trucks, customized with a combination of Mopar production and prototype parts and accessories, are two of 14 personalized rides, as well as hundreds of Mopar products, that will be on display in the brand’s 15,345-square-foot exhibit in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The SEMA Show is truly the greatest stage for our brand to demonstrate what owners and enthusiasts can create with a little imagination and a selection of Mopar parts and accessories,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Parts & Service (Mopar) and Passenger Car Brands, FCA – North America.

“There is a method to our SEMA madness — we use this show as a venue to gauge enthusiast interest in prototype parts that may become production offerings in the future.”

The SEMA Ram Rebel gets lifted 2 more inches to make even more off-road friendly.

The show cars offer two takes on the new Dodge Ram. Think of them as reaching new highs and lows. The Low Down Ram has its suspension dropped two inches, while the Ram Rebel is raised two inches.

The Low Down features a distinctive two-tone paint scheme with matching 22-inch painted wheels. And, as with most of the concepts Mopar brings to SEMA, you can find key accessories already in the parts division’s catalogues. Even the distinctive hood is likely to be added, Beahm hinted.

The lowered concept features a power tonneau, along with 5-inch exhaust tips. Inside, what started out as a Ram Bighorn adds milled billet pedals and other aluminum accents. Under the hood, meanwhile, it features a new and visually distinctive air intake shared with the Rebel.

“This one is an 11 or 12,” on a scale of 1 to 10, suggested Joe Dehner, Mopar’s styling chief.

The rear of Mopar's Ram Rebel reflects more function for those off-roaders.

The Ram 1500 Rebel is painted a custom neutral blue, nicknamed “Rebel Smoke,” and is outfitted for the trail with a Mopar lift kit that raises the Ram two inches for enhanced off-road clearance.

In addition, the Rebel features a functional Ram Bar lighting rig, as well as cast aluminum running boards with textured covers. Its V-Block 18-inch wheels are shod in 35-inch off-road rubber.
