Bollinger Motors is now offering a new customizable battery-electric work truck.
The battery-electric work vehicle market is getting a little more crowded as Bollinger Motors has jumped into the fray with a specialized variant of its all-electric B2 called the B2 Chassis Cab, or B2CC.
The B2CC is the world’s first and only Class 3 all-electric chassis-cab truck platform, the company proclaims, adding it will offer unlimited work truck variants.
“The Bollinger B2 Chassis Cab’s unique features – including the 5,000-lb. payload and large energy source to power tools – make it perfect for businesses, small and large,” said CEO Robert Bollinger.

“Commercial fleets will be able to reduce their overall cost of operation while buying a truck designed, engineered, and built in the USA. The B2CC is an ideal option for municipalities, parks services, emergency response vehicles, airports, construction, landscaping, electricians, plumbers, security, non-tactical military, and more.”
The B2 Chassis Cab comes in two-door and four-door iterations.
The Bollinger B2 Chassis Cab will be built on the patent-pending Bollinger Motors E-Chassis all-wheel drive base that underpins the Bollinger B1 Sport Utility Truck and the B2 Pickup. It will be available in both 2-door and 4-door cabs and on multiple wheelbase lengths.
The new patent-pending Bollinger B2 Chassis Cab offers real flexibility. It can be had as a two- or four-door model in a variety of wheelbase lengths can be chosen by the customer. It’ll be powered by a 120 kWh battery pack and, like the other Bollinger models, have all-wheel drive drivetrain with dual motors capable of hauling a 5,000-pound payload.

It also enjoys all the usual equipment like hydraulic anti-lock power brakes (ABS), electronic traction control, electronic stability control, hydraulic power steering, hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension and an independent front and rear suspension.

Additionally, it offers plenty of functionality, such as a 10kw on-board charger/inverter and a complete power system controls, configurable to given vehicle and an integrated thermal-management system. Bollinger is also competing with the likes of Workhorse, or Lordstown Motors, which is in the process of readying the former General Motors Lordstown, Ohio plant – hence the name – to produce work trucks and vans.
Rivian and one of its major investors, Amazon, are in the midst of developing a new electric delivery van. The two recently showed off the new-from-the-ground-up battery electric van in February. The online retail behemoth has agreed to purchase 100,000 of the vans.

The Bollinger B2 Chassis Cab will be made available to commercial outfitters in late 2021 in both full cab and cutaway-cab variants. No pricing details were offered.
