GM Certified Used Vehicles is now selling Saturn cars and trucks from the 2005-2010 model years at any of its remaining Buick, Chevrolet and GMC GM Certified Used Vehicles dealers across the nation. Cadillac stores are apparently not participating.
This manufacturer-certified used vehicle program, available at about 3,400 dealers, is a way to avoid auctioning off at fire-sale prices vehicles from the now defunct brand, which was a victim of GM’s bankruptcy.
It replaces Saturn’s previous certified used car program, which was available only from Saturn dealers.
Saturn models available include the Vue compact crossover, the Sky roadster, the Aura mid-size sports sedan, the Astra sport compact, and the Outlook crossover.
All models are six years old or newer, have 75,000 miles or less, are reconditioned to GM standards, and must undergo a “rigorous” 117-point inspection and reconditioning process.
In addition to what GM calls a category-leading 12-month/12,000-mile (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty, certified used Saturn vehicles come with a fully transferable 100,000-mile/five-year powertrain limited warranty, a free vehicle history report, 24-hour roadside assistance, three-day/150-mile customer satisfaction guarantee, and 3-month trial of OnStar and XM Satellite Radio.
“Saturn brand devotees can now purchase a Saturn with the reassurance of a manufacturer-backed warranty,” said Paul Pejza, manager, GM Certified Used Vehicles.
