Amidst all of the fashion, food and art, Range Rover will introduce its new Evoque sport utility coupe.

Is this a car show, or is it really a reason to examine ladies in the latest fashions and munch on exquisite food in the world center for fashion and food?

Certainly, there will be some significant and beautiful cars unveiled at the Paris Motor Show – to name a few, Lamborghini, Lotus and General Motors are all planning major announcements –  but this is the City of Lights and beautiful frocks and delicious food are sure to be part of the fun.

As part of the festivities, Range Rover is unveiling four street installations created by Parisian artists to celebrate the launch of the Range Rover Evoque.

Also Bentley plans to make several announcements that have nothing to do with cars. The British automaker will show what describes as “best in class” products from its partners including new watches from Breitling, Tibaldi pens, Estede eyewear and zai skis.

The installations focus on luxury, design, sustainability and technology and represent key aspects of the car. They will be unveiled at the start of Paris Fashion Week and have been created by artists André (a.k.a. Monsieur A), JCDC, Surface To Air and Yorgo Touplas.

Artist JCDC says of his installation, “My representation of luxury references grace, intimacy and protection. This is a concept frequently related to the pleasures of enveloping oneself in a garment and my work with bespoke and couture fashion. Similar to luxury clothing, this installation reflects a graceful protection.”

The pop-up street installations have been built around a wire frame replica of the Range Rover Evoque and will be positioned at iconic locations, including the Pompidou Centre and the Palais de Tokyo. They will be in displayed until Thursday and open to the public to view.

The  artists’ presentations are designed to highlight the Evoque, which will be a significant departure for Range Rover.

“The Range Rover Evoque has been designed with a creative and urban audience in mind,” Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern said. “The Evoque delivers the all-weather, all-surface capability which is a hallmark of the brand.”

The Range Rover Evoque, an all-new coupe is the smallest, lightest and most fuel-efficient Range Rover ever. It will be a global car and will be sold in over 160 countries worldwide, with North American deliveries from fall 2011.

To celebrate the new Bentley Continental GT, Swiss watchmaker Breitling will show a special edition chronograph watch with a British racing green strap and flange.

Zai, a Swiss maker of handmade skis will introduce a limited-edition pair of skis that use new technological advances and were styled with input from Bentley stylists.

Also working with Bentley’s design teams, Estede produced a limited edition, high-end range of sunglasses and ophthalmic frames under license for Bentley.

Also part of what is called the Bentley Boutique are two exciting pen designs in the Tibaldi for Bentley range – the Slimline and the Supersports. Since 2007, the Italian pen maker has been produced limited-edition pens to honor specific Bentley models, featuring details inspired by the car it represents.

Press days for the Paris Motor Show are Thursday and Friday. The show opens to the public on Saturday.
