Toyota is taking the LifeTime Fitness RAV4 to SEMA where it can show off the in-vehicle shower.

After spending hours pushing themselves to their physical limits, Toyota knew that the first thing professional triathletes would want to do is hop in their RAV4 and…take a shower.

Toyota-sponsored triathletes Sarah Haskins, Andy Potts, and Hunter Kemper designed a RAV4 with all of the “options” they felt would help them perform optimally during their events.

The LifeTime Fitness RAV4 is one of the vehicles going on display Monday at the big SEMA aftermarket car products trade show in Las Vegas. The SUV was created by the Motorsports Technical Center in Torrance, Calif., with input from Haskins, Potts and Kemper.

In addition to the shower, the RAV4 includes a spin dryer and gear storage compartments in the rear cargo area. The ability to dry out wet clothes is great, but triathletes need more than that to compete.

To offset muscle soreness, the athlete can enjoy a shiatsu massage in the front seat while reviewing race statistics and tracking data through the integrated iPad®.

They can also get something to drink from the rear-seat refrigerator, which can hold water or recovery drinks. It can also keep all of the necessities for a healthy smooth which can be made in the Blendtec® blender, which is also in the back seat.

A wireless Bluetooth® speaker allows music to move with an athlete around the vehicle. Additionally, a custom bike holder extends from the rear cargo area to allow for quick repairs onsite. A custom roof rack keeps two bikes secure, yet easily accessible.

“This fun RAV4 brings together a triathlete’s passion for a healthy, active lifestyle and the drive for pushing ourselves to race faster and smarter,” Haskins said. “The cutting-edge tools incorporated in the vehicle will help us continue to build our racing skills, while enabling us to relax a little too.”

Haskins is one of the top female triathletes in the United States with 29 professional wins and competing on the 2008 U.S. Olympic triathlon team. Kemper is the most decorated U.S. triathlete in history and a four-time member of the U.S. Olympic triathlon team. Potts competed on the 2004 Olympic team and won the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

The RAV4 was one of four vehicles – the “Ultimate Dream Ski” 2014 Toyota 4Runner, the DC Shoes 2014 Toyota Tacoma and the “Let’s Go Moto” 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax – that Toyota allowed to be modded by professionals involved in the activities.
