Nissan is recalling 2013 Nissan Rogues due to an electrical problem.

Nissan and Ford are recalling nearly 1 million vehicles for problems involving faulty hood latches, door springs, electrical issues and seatbelts. Most of the affected vehicles are in the U.S.

Nissan discovered a problem with 552,000 Rogue and Rogue Select SUVs built between 2008 and 2014. According to the automaker, snow and salty water can get into the floor of the interior cabin and wiring harness under the carpet causing electrical shorts.

Dealers will inspect the harness and replace it if necessary at no cost to owners. Those without damage will be sealed.

The company’s second recall involves the secondary hood latches on 216,000 Nissan Pathfinders from 2013 and 2014, 2013 Infiniti JX35s and 2014 QX60s. The secondary latch may remain in the open position after the primary latch is closed. If the primary latch fails, the hood could open while driving.

Nissan said some hoods have been damaged but no crashes or injuries were reported. The fix involves changing the angle of the hood release mechanism and to lengthen the release cable, which dealers will do at no cost to owners.

Additionally, Ford is recalling 205,000 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Police Interceptor models from the 2010 to 2013 model years. The automaker said a door latch spring can come unseated. If this happens, the door could unlatch in side-impact crashes. The plan calls for dealers to inspect the latches and replace them as needed.

The automaker has a second recall for 16,000 Transit Connect vans for 2014. The seatbelt fasteners can come loose and cause the belt to malfunction. Dealers will replace the fasteners. Ford said it was unaware of any injuries related to either problem.
